It all depends on the weight and use of your car, and driver preference has a huge impact on spring rate. Some people like to use stiff springs and soft sway bars, some go softer springs with stiffer bars... i know this may not seem helpful but it truly has to do with what kind of driver you are and how you drive the car.

THanks in advance
John does amazing work. He has fabbed up stuff for many different cars in Formula Drift and outside of that as well. He puts a lot of effort into making sure his work is top notch! I would highly recommend him for any fabrication.

We have been doing alot of drifting this season out at Summit Point Raceway. Seems to be a pretty cool venue.

So, am finally hitting the drifting pretty hard. Everything came together this weekend. Got a lot of "atta boys". Having some issues on my entry though man. Its frustrating me.
Do you have any pointers or tips that you would suggest? How about you just come to Drift Nirvana one day and show me how its supposed to be done? :-) Burgers and dogs on me!!
It is coming along well. We are currently making 385whp.

Summit Point is a really cool track. What type of initiation are you having trouble with? Clutch kick or handbrake?

Yes it is still around! I drive that car in demos, but also ran it and won with it in the Formula Drift Team Drift event in Long Beach. It is a great setup and definitely fast. The v8 has excellent midrange and makes for a better tandem drift setup. The SR car is 200lbs lighter, which makes it snappier and quicker, so yes it would be excellent on a road course.

Finally, I would like to ask you guys from Drift Alliance to do us amatuer guys a favor. I drift at Club Loose, and we could really use a discount on tires. Could you please work out a group tire sponsorship for the some of the small drift clubs?
What type of setup do you have? NA, TT, supercharged? What weight oil do you use in your diff? Stock drum brake shoes glaze over quickly, so I always recommend that Z owners purchase the Project Mu drum shoes. It is what we use on our cars, and they last much longer and grip much better than the stock shoes.

We usually pay a lot of attention to the drum shoes, the suspension and drivetrain bolts, making sure everything is tight. Also keep up on your fluids, especially if things are getting hot, you want to change the fluids more frequently.

We can try to setup a drift club discount with Maxxis. I know they have a "Pro-Am" discount for some drivers. I will find out how to get into that program.

I have an '04, basically with stock power. In my (2-way) differential, I currently use 75w-90. Should I change to 75w-140? Everyone seems to be changing to that viscosity, but I don't know the real reason why. Also, I've been using the Project Mu e-brake shoes for over a year and I must say they are my second favorite upgrade, after my 2-way. Every amature Z33/V35 drifter should have them.

I would probably change to 75w-140. Not as thick as the 85w-140 so it should be good on a daily driver as well.

Yes, I also recommend the Tomei diff. It is suuuper quiet in comparison to other brands so it would make for a great daily driver diff. Shorter gears are a nice way to get some good acceleration out of your car, just as long as you can deal with the extra rpm's on the freeway.

Thanks man! We only made the set that is on the car currently. It was a one off build that we made a year ago. It really does add a lot of steering angle, but unfortunately we will not be offering them for sale. There is a lot of stuff that you must modify in order to use that style of arm.

9shelby - I have the Tomei. It's a little harsh at first, but it smooths out. When I initially installed it and I would turn sharply in a parking lot, there would be a few loud energy releasing bangs. It's smoothed out now to a just a chatter. If you're looking for civility, this isn't what you want. It still makes people ask what's broken.

Don't they have adjusted knuckles for extra angle in Japan?

Yeah almost every clutch type differential will chatter. But its what you have to deal with if you want that style of a diff in your car.

Not that I am aware of... I have not seen any modified knuckles for the 350Z yet.

Part Shop Max might have some knuckles for the 350z. IIRC, there is a thread on zilvia regarding the knuckles they sell. I thought I saw that they recently added z33 knuckles to their product line.

Any suggestions on modifying the handbrake in the Z/G to make it more suitable for drifting? Does anyone sell a setup like the one in your Z?

Thanks! Forsberg rips!

First off it's powered by max they don't have knuckles for the z33. I emailed them and if I take my car there they will figure it out. Me Florida them Cali. I went to weld, central 20 and yashio factory today. No one makes knuckles for the Z. That's why I have been begging for a set from ls auto.
Chris will you at least take some photos of your setup??
