Rainy Weather Tip
If you find yourself in a skid, stay calm, ease your foot off the gas, and carefully steer in the direction you want the car to go.

We have tons of LS1 powered import cars out there normally. Sorry you guys came out on a yucky day, I promise the next one will be way more fun. And the March one is INSANE. It is called the lonestarbash, and there will be 600 people out there hanging out, with probably 45-60 cars drifting.

Whats up, guys? I took some coverage of the recent event at Mineral Wells on March 7th, 2010 that I wanted to share with everybody.
To be honest, it was my first trip to Mineral Wells. I live in Houston, so I drove up the day before and crashed at a friend's house. The trip couldn't have seemed more perfect at the time - beatiful, warm day and great weather! I went to sleep excited to get out to the event early in the morning and see what Mineral Wells was all about!
... I woke up day of the event thinking to myself, "Damn, its cold as hell!" I got up, walked over and peeked outside and was greeted with the unfortunate site of fog and rain. Either way, I wasn't about to make the drive for nothing so I packed up and headed out to the event.
When I got there, the first thing I thought was "Wow, this lot is huge!" followed quickly with, "Where the hell is everybody!?" Out of the corner of my eye I saw a guy walking towards me in the distance, waving his hands. I assumed he worked there since I didn't see his vehicle. As I got closer, I realized it was Aaron... and then I realized why I didn't see his truck - it was in the mud behind the trailer!
I didn't have a vehicle capable of pulling the truck out, but we decided to run up to Walmart and grab some tow straps. Luckily, the guys from Austin showed up soon after with a truck and trailer and towed Aaron's truck out of the mud.
Although the weather was hard to deal with, cars started to show up slowly and everyone had a chance to talk a bit while the track was being set up.
A couple of the guys showed up bright and early to hang out and watch, despite the rain. Alot of the spectators had pretty clean cars.
The drivers got out and started swapping their drift wheels on and prepping their cars.
Atleast one guy in the group wasn't camera shy in the least, haha.
The rain will get the best of you at some point if you skateboard in the rain :P
Finally, the cars were prepped and Aaron went ahead and introduced himself and held the driver's meeting, followed by a short walkthrough on the track.
Finally, the drivers headed out to the track and had a chance to tear it up!
