Considering another 350z for a drift car
I had a 350z that I had to sell to be a family man... But I am getting into a better financial situation to where I can look to have a fun car again. I really enjoyed how well my old 350z handled and was eager to start drifting but never did for many reasons and also I was worried about screwing up my DD. Now I can have a car I can beat on and I have been thinking about getting a 350z for drifting and I wanted to know if I should go for another 350z or if I should consider another car in my decision, I really don't want to spend more than $10k for the next car.

I had a 97 s14 but never got it finished, probably only drove it 10 miles... I have lots of friends with s13's my worry is that it would cost more to put together and set up a 240sx than to buy a 350z and do light modifications
Month old bump, but this particular section of the forum is dead anyway so oh well.
Z's are stupid easy to make competent drift cars out of. Just like kunt_masha said, welded diff/2-way and coilovers and you're set. Even with stock suspension they handle great. They have huge potential but, they're much more expensive than S14's. It's hard crashing into things with a Z and not caring, with an S14 I'd smash the **** out of everything and try and love tap everyone I ever tandem with; it's an old S14, who cares.
Unless you have the same connection with the Z you get that I have with mine, it's such a hunk of crap anyway so who cares. I cheered when my friend ripped my rear bumper off co-driving my car, it was awesome.

I just bought an even nicer DD instead of trying to put together a track car on a budget, I am putting off making a track car, besides, the longer I wait, the cheaper 350z's will get
