I have an european DE 6MT 280hp (roadster), VLSD equipped.
My car is even worst than stock one because I have a 110 Kg weight in the car boot ( ... please don't ask why ... ).

I would like to start drifting and I would like to start with new LSD + new final gear + camber / toe settings.

So, please, give me your opinions about these parts:
- LSD Cusco RS 1.5/2way (set 2way)
- 4.360 Central 20 final gear
- camber / toe settings (I don't know which use, please remember +110 Kg)

So:
- the Cusco RS 2way is the better LSD for drifting?
- 4.36 final gear is the best choice for drifting? Which is the top speed in 6 gear @ 6600 rpm?
- no idea which camber/toe using (I have grippy Michelin Pilot Super Sport 225/45R18 on front and 245/45R18 on rear)

Consider:
- I don't use my car on highway but often I get 120/130 mph ... But I drive a DE so I can't get high rpm, maybe I should use 4.08 / 3.9 for drift ...
- fuel cost is not a problem
- VDC is not a problem (european 350z have ESP OFF button, we disable both TCS and VDC with one button, maybe I'm wrong)

I'll pay $1900 for parts and work (here in Europe these parts cost a lot!), it's a lot of money for me so I don't want waste my money

First question about Cusco RS. For drifting which is better, Cusco RS or Cusco RS F-Spec?
How LSD 2-way work with TCS/VDC/ESP? Can I drive with ESP on and disable it only for drifting or ESP works in the wrong way with the new LSD and I have to disable it all the time?

 

Lose that weight in the back and it will drift just fine... But really it shouldn't have a problem drifting in its current form

Maybe he is trying to drag someone around behind the car like a trailer while drifting. I did see that on a television show last year. 4.08 gears would make it easier to cut the tires loose, but if your on a budget tires are going to get expensive.

 

You don't need anything but a place to go drift. The stock DE does just fine. You want grip in drifting so you can achieve better control. However, I wouldn't go with something as sticky.

Your planned mods won't HURT anything. But until you start getting serious, you don't need any of it.

 

With LSD 2-way powerslides occur most frequently?

DE is 240 hp, so if 2way LSD feels more "stable" powerslides are harder to get with a stock engine and you have to push a lot more to get a powerslide ... maybe I'm wrong ... what do you think?

 

3.9 or 4.1 gears will work, what 2 way dif you buy doesn't matter, any will work well for a drift application.

 

Just bought Cusco RS 2-way ... no final gear, stock should be ok, 2 gear seems perfect for drift on the 280hp ... with shortest final gear second gear is too short ...

 

Welcome to the my350z.com moderator experience.

 

any 2 way will work great. some 2 ways will lock at different point 50, 60, whatever, if yours can be changed, just put it to 100 and that solves all your issues.
the final gear is nice to have just because we don't quite have the torque to keep the wheels spinning on larger courses. Most stuff you will be drifting 2nd anyways until you really start to get the hang of things, at which point you just put your foot to the floor, get into 3rd and never let up. Otherwise now that you have your dif, I would go all suspension.
