Ont drivers with mods or who like to do motorsports READ this!
After getting my insurance coverage yanked because I Solo2, I decided to exducate myself on what carriers can and can't do.
Most if not all typical carriers within Ontario have some clause within their contract indicating that modifications or "racing" (even on private property with proper liability insurance) will void your coverage. I've read of coveraged being dumped simply due to aftermarket spoiler. This is a HUGE liability to accept and frankly could mean that we're all wasting our money paying for coverage which could be dropped if ever needed.
There is hope. William's Performance friction has organised a private insurance group which will allow motorsport activities (run by a sanctioned club) and non home-made modifications. Their rates should be quite competititve with what's out there anyway. This is a serious policy and those with excessively bad records will not be accepted. But those with responsible attitudes looking to enjoy their Zed in a proper manner or enjoy aftermarket appearance should seriously look into this.
Visit Solo Canada's web site for more info.
Fill out the registration form and (in my best 'ING Direct' Scandianvian voice...) "save your liability!".
