Hey Z freaks,

Anyone have a positive, or maybe more importantly, negative experience with window tinting in the GTA? I am looking to go as dark as possible on all sides and rear. Can anyone recommend a place and what would constitute a fair price?

I have actually never tinted my windows before but I spend a lot of time commuting and I can’t stand “looky-loos”…or something like that.

Thanks.

How dark are you looking for? I have 35% tints all around, got it from FX Auto on Heritage road...I paid $225 tax in for the install.... I'm sure they can go darker if you want. But I personally dont like limo tints on the Z....come on, you want to be seen in your car!

Cool So true...

I was thinking 35% for the exact same reason you suggested (privacy but still allowing me to be seen).

Thanks for your help Noodleman.

Ps. Any chance of a pic of yours?

np, and did you say pics? :P It's hard to gauge from pics, due to the different lighting..i'll pic different lighting condition so you can decide on your own..your interior colour will also change how dark your tint looks...

Noodle, do you have 35% all round? or darker on the rear?
And how long did it take them to install?

Thanks again,

it's 35% all around. I personally think that we don't have enough windows to "fade" into a darker tint in the rear...

As for install time, not quite sure really...I was doing it together with a bunch of my friends, and the first 2 cars (mine was one of them) in less than a few hours. We just left our cars there to get done and came back a few hours later. I'm sure if you call those tint guys ahead of time they'd tell you roughly how long it takes.
