Default is this true...not using nissans transmission fluid voids warranty...

So I dropped by the nissan dealership at kennedy/7th for picking up some simple bolts/screws...I believe that one is the Alta Nissan one(correct me if i'm wrong).

While I was there I decided to ask him about the transmission and how mine makes a noise(but afterwards I figured out I think its my fluid as it doesn't really grind or at least I don't think it does...maybe at the meet one of you guys can drive it to see if mine is dying)

I told him that I was going to have my fluids changed by someone else and he said make sure that they are using nissan brand with this type: 75W something something...i forgot exactly ; / or else it voids the warranty on the drive train. He said it was a bulletin and that it was applicable to all manual cars from 2001 and up.

Scare tactic or truth?

This is false. We have many guys here using aftermarket fluids. Next time ask them to show you where in the warranty gives them the right to void your warranty if you dont.
