so i decided to take the wheels off my '06 (track) and weigh them against the original 18' (touring) set. The 350z wiki lists weights without tires, so I thought I would share....
Front Touring - 54.5 lbs -> tires were REO4O
Front Track - 50.0 lbs -> Tires were REO5OA
Rear Touring - 55.0 lbs
Rear Track - 55.25 lbs
so there is a 9.5 lbs weight saving with the Track wheels, but I guess the real bonus is the tires are quite a bit bigger and thus more tire/road patch...
cheers,
Yv

those numbers sound about right. I weighed mine and got 55lbs for the fronts and 56lbs for the rears.
My rims now are as follows:
Front: 19x8.5 with 245/35/19 tires --> ~48lbs
Rear: 19x9.5 with 275/35/19 tires --> ~51lbs

RE040 sucks *****. Running Direzzas on street. S03 front/RE050A rear for track.
Pilot sports are good too.
Edit: Just weighted my OEM rims.
04 OEM 350Z rims.
Dunlop Direzza
245/45 rear
225/45 front
front: 51lbs
rear: 53lbs
Maybe investing in volks isn't such a bad idea...

Are these 06 track wheels or did you buy 03-05 track wheels for your 06 touring? Because my 03-05 track wheels weighed like 44-45 front and 46 rear with BFG KDWs
And btw, since the weight difference is in the front, it wouldn't make a damn difference. The rears are rotational mass, therefore 10 pounds would be a lot more likely to make a noticeable difference than the fronts
