Default Experience with Performance Nissan

Just wondering if any of you fellow Canadians have experience dealing with Performance Nissan.

I'm looking to get a Veilside CF lip from them but I'm worried about getting hit with duty and brokerage since they ship via UPS.

I remember reading posts from way back that guys from Performance Nissan were really helpful towards Canadian customers with regards to avoiding duty and brokerage costs etc. Unfortunately that doesn't seem like the case anymore as they completely ignored my question regarding these additional costs shipping cross-boarder.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When I first got my Z, I was looking to buy a bunch of stuff from Performance Nissan in the US. But in the end, I didn't buy anything from them and here's what I know based on my experience.

If you buy small items, they can ship using USPS. But if you buy big items such as exhausts and body kits, they are too big for USPS and will only ship through UPS.

They will NOT declare a lower value for Canada customs and will NOT declare the item as GIFT. It's against their policy. Therefore, if you buy body kits from them, you can be assured you will be dinged duties, GST, PST, brokerage fee, and GST on brokerage fee.

But if you buy small items and they ship with USPS, you might still have to pay GST+PST+$5 Canada Post Admin Fee because they will not declare item as GIFT.

However, their service is great and knowledgable.

Good luck.

You can get this locally.
Try Speedstar, or even JRP...
Speedstar- ask for albert
JRP - Ask for Stav (steve)

Let them both know that you are from the forum, I am sure they will try there best to hook you up.

Happy Hunting!

I ended up buy from a nissan dealership close to Niagara falls and ship the rest of the stuff to a mail box close to Niagara faills, then drove there myself to pick up all the stuff together.
