So Sunday afternoon I thought I would start the Z up, move it around a bit i the driveway and use it as an excuss really to take the cover off.

Took the cover off slid over to the driver seat. (Can't get in the driver side garage to small and i Drive in. ) Put the key in, turn the ignition, click click click, ShIIIT Battery dead!

Think think think, hummm drive to Dads house to see if he has a batt charger, can't find it. Damn!

Well i thought I saw Cdn tire sale in the flyer. Off I go to cdn tire .....looking looking, Aha! Sale tag but no chargers, humm get one of kid sales guys to see if they have any left. Nope it was last weeks sale UGH!

Now what? Look look some more. Hey I have a back up emerg supply at home with jumper cables like the ones here on the shelves Doooh. Back in the car homeward bound. Find the pwr supply and yes it was plugged in the basement fully charged.

Hook it up to the Z. Presto Car is purring like a kitten.

As for the mods. I want a body kit, BBK, and some Mr Zipps silverstone painted '06 headlights....
But that's like 10 000 dollars. I can invest 10000 and turn it into 20000 in 7 years. SO, that's my dilemma.

I hate and love being so rational.

Well, the way I see it, fun is an important priority. But being 28, and already having a 350Z, is 20 000 in mods necessary to have a good time with an NA Z (10000+ already spent)? Would I rather keep the 350Z and have a 20 000 dollar coupon off something else to add to the collection? It's all hard to say, so I take my time and work it all out.

People ask me all the time why I'm so frugal with money, and the answer is the same everytime, "I'm saving to be a millionaire".

 

That's a really sound plan Mike. I say go for it!!! You still have lots of time to mod the Z.

For Me Money was always tight and on a budget with envelpoes dividing up the weekly pay, no coffee money didnt want to spend the extra and everything. Then we came accross some planned extra that sent me on a spending spree after 45++ years of being carefull. Well Damn I spent it before it became 100% real and broke my own rule. Make sure its in your pocket or you have a planned way to pay it off. No regreats though, I can't wait forever to start enjoying some material things.

Told my Grandparents when I was a teenager that I would be a millionaire at 35. Guess that didn't happen LOL. Still dreaming not rich in money just rich with happiness. Oh and my Z hehehe

how did you manage to spend $10k on mods so far? I seem to have gotten better milage out of my mod money than you :P

i say you have two options...save some money by just doing the kit + headlights, skipping the bbk, or just get the bbk.

painted headlights just doesn't seem to look as pretty without body mods to go with it.

join to mostly-show-almost-no-go club like me hahahaha.

 

Conservative estimate.....

5600 wheels and tires.
400 on Eibach pro kit
2000 on HKS exhaust
350 on MD spacer
800 on stop tech stage 2 kit
350 on clear bra
300 on tint
300 on 2006 LED tails
260 on lug nuts

So that's 10360....
I've also resprayed some rock ships out of the front and rear bumper... that was about $750.
So over 10000 in mods so far.
I've also deleted the rear wiper, and gotten a short antenna. A bunch of little things...

Oh yeah spacers... that's another 200 or so.
edit, another pair of rear stock tires... 850..

so I'm up to about 12000 in reality after the purchase

 

ah...estimate for me is..
abotu $11000 on mods so far....

and another $1k to have my hood and fender resprayed for random debris on the hwy :\ I refuse to count those as mods on the car haha.

this year i'm planning to get my fenders rolled, update to the jdm tails, and some engine bay bling...which in total should run me under $1500...

if the money thing is getting to ya, just do it slowly, then it's less noticeable haha. No need to do everyone in one bang like dave haha.

 

Little mods for me this year. Still have dreams of a built Eng. Maybe someone will send me one.
