I have a belief that you gotta pay to be unique, doesnt work in my350z though....

Mornin' Gents!
So I've been looking at this authentic vs. knockoff thing you have going on, and I figured I'd voice my opinion, even though no one asked for it
I'll pay for performance, but I won't pay for style.
Any dressup items like a bodykit, I'll buy the cheapest one with the best fitment. I refuse to pay for brand and art.
When it comes to clothes and stuff like that, I refuse to ever own a knockoff, because I hate people that try to fake being baller, but I don't buy high end brands either, because I think it's stupid and a waste of money. I select solely based on how it looks, how it fits me, and the quality of it. Brand never comes into play.
The problem with bodykits, is there's no lower-end brands really. It's just authentic overpriced JDM stuff, and knockoffs. Nobody tries to come up with their own design, and sell it for a fair price. So I'll buy the knockoff. Not because I want people to think I'm baller with some fancy kit, without paying the money, but because it makes good financial sense. I apply the same rule to some idiot proof stuff, like exhaust, IC piping (but not core, core should be brand name to ensure quality) aand.. I think that's it. Everything else should be brand name. Wheels, suspension, rotors, pads, any FI stuff.

I don't think you understand just how terrible most replicas look. It's not about style at that point at all. They should have stayed stock.
If you care about how your car looks enough to go through the trouble of putting on a body kit, you care enough to notice how crap the material is/ fitment is.
