at least i can see that stuff is coming off, and i see a glimmer of shine...I shall persevere and get these tips clean and shiny!

Try sanding with 2000 grit and then use metal polish. Works wonders! I should do it to the A3 soon, it's getting quite black.

That is overkill for the amuse tips.. they were not as bad as your injen tips, or my old nismo...
Mothers mag polish should clean it right up.

Proper maintenance would've kept it nice and shiny
I only do a light cleaning on my tips, but I do it every week, so they shine like new.

^^^ orly? thanks for that insight. maybe you should tell that to Ced since he was the one who got it dirty...

edit: checked out the tips again this morning...that purple shine is comin out inside of the tips are still pure black. mother's metal polish should do the job though.

We tried this technique on my friend's HKS Ti tips, the color only comes off if you put too much pressure, we only did very LIGHT sanding to remove the heavy stuff and bring out the colors. The end result was very nice. Just to let you know if you do need the sanding.
