Default 350Z turbo VS 2006 STI

Hey guys,

what do you think of the 06 STI versus the 350Z? I just picked up a WRX for my wife and it is faster than my 350!! So the question is, boost the 350Z or sell it and get an 06 STI?

thanks!

^LoL!
Alberto, if you want speed go with the STI.
If you want Looks and Speed, boost the z...

I couldnt live with the styling of the sti, its a GD box on wheels....

I would turbo the Z, the Sti is nice, but the Z has a much better interior.

for the cost of doin a turbo kit you could a 2006 STI. then you have the STI to go fast in and the 350z to look good in.

STI will be more reliable and practical. A FI Z stock block or built will eventually be a headache. Obviously I like headaches I couldnt imagine life without 600whp....

Are you saying that a regular WRX (non-STI) is faster than your 350z? In a 1/4 mile race, the 350z has a slight advantage usually.

If speed is all you care about, the STI is your winner.. Personally I don't like any of that type of car in the looks department - SRT-4, EVO, STI.. econobox styling with a lot of HP..

lol, wrx is faster than Z? Not in my experience with a 300hp one.... It'll pull on the Z in 3rd, but not 4th... aerodynamics slows that box down.

I was VERY close to buying an STi simply because it pulls way harder on the first 3 gears. But the interior totally killed it for me, so I got Z instead.

Thanks for the info guys. I just ordered rims for the Z today so I think I will keep it for another year and see how it goes. Turbo is a 2009 project if all goes well.
But i gotta say I still love those Subies!
What turbo kits do you guys recommend? I don't want anything to blow up keep in mind

once you get the sti dont drive a vette because the vette is faster so youll want to get that. but once you get the vette dont drive a 911 turbo because its faster and youll want to get that. but once you get the 911 dont drive a saleen s1 because its faster and youll want that. but once you get the saleen dont drive the veyron because its faster and youll want that. once you get the veyron dont take piloting lessons because jets are faster and youll want that.

for christ sakes, did you really buy the Z for all out speed?

^^ I think its once you get the Z you want new Rims and tires, check out other car's, get a body kit with some CF, Once you have that its upgraded brakes and suspension, then you add high end audio stuff that is worth more than your home stereo once you have that its FI and 400+WHP, Once you have that its a built eng, once you have that..........

It's a disease. I don't have the cure nor do I want to find it.

boosted 350z will crush a stock sti if it can get traction...sti with good mods and a stock engine 350zTT would be very close.

350z is still hands down a sexyer car and for almost the same price you get more in a 350z. trust me the STI was my second choice.
