Do you know an insurance company that recognizes overseas drivers experience?
Somebody mentioned State Farm...

I am with Meloche but I only have 3-4 years of drivers experience (I'm over 25 though) and was guoted $3000 for a G35 sedan. I am wondering how much more expensive the Z will be?

) driving experience, but was only insured as a second driver for the past 5~6 years, so for all intents and purposes, we should be in the same category. I have a clean record, no claims.
Check with their group rates. If you qualify, your rates will be substantially reduced.
As far as I know, overseas driving experience does not count.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that the years of driving experience is actually irrelevant; rather what actually counts is the years you have been insured.

I think they have a UofT Alumni group discount.

I think the number of years you are registered driver holds more weight in their pricing scheme (if you pass 25).
My original question is how much more is to insure the 350Z (a coupe with no back seat) vs. a sports sedan? If somebody was driving a 4-dr sedan before the Z, I need his/her input.
I will be paying approx. $2500 a year on the z, but I'm looking to get a 6 month deal because I'm gonna keep my Honda as a winter beater.......Hopefully it'll be much less than $25oo for the full year. That might be an option if you have a cheap winter ride.

My rate just went up, but it's still reasonable at $2000 per year.
I surprisingly found out that my 350Z was not that expensive to insure considering it's a 287HP 2door-2seat sports car.
It's little bit more expensive than Acura CL-S, TL-S, IS300 but less expensive than Honda S2000, BMW 330, Audi TT.
Good luck

It truely depends on where in the GTA you actually live in. I'm down in the High Park area and I got 10+ driving experience and I'm only paying 175 bucks a month for my Z with Scottish & York insurance. Thats with a clean sheet and I'm 27.
Still waiting for my 2006 Z.
But quoted my insurance to be no more than $200/month, and myself as principle driver for the 2006 Z
26 single male, full G licensed for 8 years, perfect record, no claims, $1000 deductible.
Insurance with TD Meloch Monnex, with University Alumni special rates.
If want cheaper car insurance, don't live inside Toronto. If you live in the 905 area, car insurance is cheaper and increasing your deductible to $1000 instead of $500 will save you about $15/month.
If you are below 25, your insurance will be high and you are better off being an occasional driver and not the principle driver.
