Default Trunk Lift Struts - A Canadian Fix!

just wanted to pass along a great solution to fix weak trunk lift struts. I got mine rebuilt by www.strutwise.com They are located in Surrey BC. Simply courier you lift struts to them and they need about 2 days (or less) to rebuild them. Cost was $45 each plus shipping. You can have them rebuilt stronger than OEM spec, which I did, and the trunk now lifts itself.

My dealer wanted something like $275 each strut. The OEM struts had been replaced once under warranty and I suspect they are too weak for the application

Rebuilding the OEMs struts keeps the original look with NIssan tags and all on the strut.

I will post in Western Canada section. Hopefully the mods won't delete the double post.

My oem ones were already showing rust around the seams. And I keep my car clean and inside.

Or get them replaced to heavier duty shocks at Nissan under warranty for free. You just have to ask for shocks made for hatch with spoilers.
