true

but i dout if they have a 10k summer car they would spend 5k on a beater. Or at least it makes no sence to me. I would say around 20% of your summer car could be used for a beater. so a 10k summer = 2k winter, 50k summer 10k winter.

or at least thats would i would do, my winter cavalier is worth 20% of my Z.

It's all relative. For some, $50k is like $200k

For those of us who are storing the cars here is what I have come up with so far:

1) Fill the tank with gas
2) Get the oil changed before the storage
3) Fill the tires with 50PSI (no flat spots)
4) Give it a good bath
5) Open both doors
6) Disconnect the battery
7) Close the doors (keeps the windows cracked for the seals)
8) I'm covering it with an oem car cover

Anything else?

FIFTY psi?! that's a lot of pressure. just for reference, i've stored my z 4 years in a row with only +2 psi (37/38 psi) and none of my tires have ever flat-spotted.

I just swap out my rims and put on the stockers as rollable blocks.

another benefit of driving a winter beater is that come spring time you get to fall in love with your Z all over again

Man, I'm gonna love this spring! My previous beaters were a V6 Solara, and the turbo DSM lol. This is the first time I've driven a car so slow, I actually have difficulty keeping up with traffic. I'm not even joking, from a light, all the cars always leave me behind, and they're just driving normally. I have to cane it to keep up!

daily driving isn't a race, there's no need to beat/keep up with anyone. especially winter time.

No, it's not a race, but it's really annoying when you set off from a red, and everyone pulls away, the car behind you is tailgating you, and ends up switching lanes to pass. There's just something really depressing about holding up traffic. Makes me feel like a 75 year old woman in a Buick.

I'm lucky enough to have 2 vehicles... my '06 Z and a '03 CRV. The problem is that I live in a Condo and my car is stored in an underground parking on the 2nd level. Can I still use a trickle charger? Ideally I would like to keep my boomerang powered. I will also be moving in the coming months (Jan 09) and I will have to wake up the Z to move it to my new house.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
