Depends, I'm not interested in riceboy R8 or BMW lights on my car. Sorry... Why do people do this honestly? This is akin to the civics with HALO lights and stuff. Why bother doing this to an already nice car that doesn't need ghey looking lights. That cincity stuff is really retarded imo.

Now with that said an all the ******* riders of cincity ready to kill me, I do like when they pull the orange strip and paint the inside of the light thats cool and looks good. I'm just not diggin the R8 lights, thats total riceboy stuff there. THe color inside of the projectors is iffy too....

Maybe some pics of what you have done would help? I wouldn't mind having my orange strip removed and having them partially painted black in the surround where it's not reflector.

$500 for little led's under my lights? really? Wow.

Most would argue that adding a replica (china brand) exhaust would also fall into this same category....
But everyone is allowed to pick and choose as they wish.

OP,
Lets see what you can do with your lights!

I see where you were trying to go with that, but not exactly. Putting R8 or Halo lights on another car is pretty lame. Common, when halo lights first came out and were spammed all over ebay for every car and every civic and cavalier had them, you too said you would never put them on your car. The R8 lights are the new halo light for cavaliers and civics.

Exhaust systems are all knock offs of each other plus HKS quality is non-existent. HKS exhaust systems are done in Taiwan now and they are done pretty shoddy. That's how the "knock" off units came along. I'm having a hard time drawing a parallel between the XO2 exhaust and Halo lights on a Civic really.

If I am hurting your feeling for having those lights on your car don't be upset. It's only a personal opinion that I don't like the stuff they do to the lights. If you do then that's cool, but trying to prove an opinion wrong is fairly pointless.

LoL! why would you be hurting my feelings.. they would never go on a z of mine..

I am simply pointing out that your statement of certain things being "akin to civics" also draws comparisons to your post about the X02 exhaust..
I believe purchasing and installing china branded "knock-off", is akin to the actions of civic owners -thats all.
My apologies if I struck a nerve..

You say that exhausts are all knock-off's?
So when HKS came out with the TD exhaust, who did they copy?
and amuse, arc, mcr......
Please elaborate as I am unaware that these were all knock-offs....

Its an exhaust system. It's not like they re-invented the wheel. So what they made a true dual? Were dual exhaust systems non existent before? The only thing they did was the overall design.

Here is the difference. The XO2 exhaust system is half the price and more than half as good, so still you are getting what you paid for, even if the design is a rip off of HKS's. They are both aftermarket and that muffler with the attached silencer has been used on other applications before as well. So really it's a moot point.

Something like lines of LED's or a ring of light that has NEVER been used on another brand, and is part of that brands design is very unique. Then to take a unique aspect of a particular brand and ***** it over other product to create the same "look" is riceboy. That would be like hyundai using a horse with two feed in the air on their logo, or a bull charging in their logo, or how about a crest with gold on one side and black/red stripes on the other? Etc etc.. Those are unique images/ideas for Ferrari, Lambo and Porsche.

So taking the LED's that Audi puts in their lights, or Halo rings that BMW uses, or "Alteeza" taillights from the Japanese Toyota Alteeza (IS300) and applying them to different cars to emulate a look from another manufacturer is what I am talking about. Thats different than an exhaust system with no real design to it thats specific to HKS or the 350Z. All "specific" pieces of that exhaust system are old and have been used all over the place before. That's my point.

Trying to draw a comparison between an aftermarket exhaust with no specific points that make it unique and something that is absolutely unique to only one manufacturer is pretty weak sauce.

Right, design doesnt mean much...

Why not just say that you dont want to pay full pop for an HKS.. Instead of trying to justify your purchase.
And you say half as good? does the R&D from x02 show you that?
I am sure the chinese company, who simply copied the exhaust, spent millions testing the product before releasing it to the general public..

The design is what makes it unique.. Who had the same design with Ti Tips? Please tell me because in the 3 years of ownership I must have missed that one.
If by pieces, you mean metal.. then yes, metal has been used all over the place...

IMO, I see similarities... but thats my opinion.. not sure why you are trying to prove me wrong.. lol

Keep us posted when you get it done on your Z

I would be interested. I had planned to get my headlights blacked out by them...but its a little expensive and with the shipping and all. So I have not done it yet...though at the moment they will be my choice when the time comes.

If it could be done locally, with equal quality, I would sign up.

I'm done replying to you. Not only has this steered way off course it's basically pointless. We could go back and forth. As soon as it's a multi quote trying to argue every single little point it's way past the minute amount that I could care a less about you.
