one lesson learned today though is avoid CT...and avoid the stealership. Haha best was stealership when i was bored and decided to inquire them for idle pulley/belt replacement....quoted me $900 ;p

One reason why to avoid CT is....do they have the more specific knowledge to fix your problem after just a simple battery swap...probably not. There probably are some very knowledgeable guys at some CT but you'll run into some noobies who have trouble doing a proper oil change.

the solution actually involves midgets hiding in your engine bay and driving around with that midget for at least 1 hour. Just make sure he/she has something to hold onto with 1 hand while the other hand is holding the hood down. okay j/k j/k ;p

ok, here it is

Symptom: Engine stalls on idle rite after engine started

Do the following fix ONLY if you can keep the engine running by pressing a little on the throttle.

FIX
its the carbon deposit that got build-up around the t-body butterfly. Just take off the intake pipe, spray some t-body/intake cleaner around the butterfly. Apply enough just to clean off the deposit around it. Let it sit for 5-10 mins, then starts the engine. The engine will idle funny in the 1st couple of mins(make take up to 10mins) b4 it idles normal. Just let the solvent completely burn off. (

Reason
Seems like the carbon deposit that got build-up around t-plate will get soften and sealed up the 1-2% opened t-plate after entering a warmer climates(shop) from -10C outside.

Thanks for your tips.

But I am just a bit curious as to why this sympton appeared RIGHT AFTER I swapped my battery..??.. does it have anything to do with the battery that I changed or it's all by coincidence???

Why does it rule out the alternator?
OP, can you start your car several times? Is the only problem the sputtering at low RPM's and the car cutting off?

um... so I did the re-learning Idle Air Control vale procedure this morning successfully..it seems to get a bit better but rpm still drops to below 500 once in a while.......

anybody knows if cleaning MAF/Throttle body will help resolve this issue?? how much would i be looking at to have these components cleaned by a garage (no dealer for me...)....

Thanks in advance guys..

Robin

There is an Infiniti dealer that will clean ThrottleBody and MAF for CAD $80? For real?? I thought they'd charge me like $250 or something....

...wouldn't it be NICE if car manufacturers simplified all these pain-in-the-neck procedures?! They do all these things to force us to go to the stealership!!! Thank God my Zed resets "automatically" (???) whenever I get a new battery---3, so far.
