Default air filter

Hi guys, just wanted you guys opinion on this air filter to see if its any good. I dont think its that great, cuz the surface area of the cone is really small, thus allowing less air to be sucked in. It comes with a heat shield, which is good for those short-ram set up...however I have a CAI setup on my car, now will this cause me to loose power? I know I told myself not to buy anything that has any word with racing on it, but i needed a filter cuz while my car was stored, something was having a snack on my air filter..
so just want to hear your thoughts...

Thanks.

david

This is an AEM CAI that I have, I took out the other tube that leads down into the bumper, can I convert this CAI and make it a short ram?

Your post is slightly confusing..

Are you saying you need a replacement filter for your AEM cai?
Aem should easily convert to short ram, IIRC...

By taking out the tube that goes down to the bumper, it's already converted to short ram.

From your post, it looks like you are looking to replace the AEM because some animal was living in it? It's easier just to get a replacement cone filter.

Both stores carry good cone filters for specific sizes.

PIcked up an AEM dryflow air filter from performance improvements. Installed it on the Z and now she breath so much better. The no hassle oil up is great. Picked up two, in case I need to clean one and let it dry.
