Default Bose Amp upgrade ?

Anyone have their Bose Amp upgraded with the factory TSB ? Is it any better ?

Even though I only listen to it for less than a total of 1 hour over the past six months, I decided I can't live with it anymore. I want to do something about it, but I would like to keep the interior looking stock, any suggestion ?

Does the head unit sucks or is it the speakers ? Can I replace one or the other to get some decent sound ( I am not a audiofile, but that booming base is driving me nuts).

Have you tried the "fix"? Something about sticking a resistor in the microphone... do a search in the Audio forum... TSB amp sucks, esp. if you like bass... absolutley no bass whatsoever... still holdin' out for a fix from Nissan/Bose..... did someone say, "When Pigs Fly?!?!"

Cheers!

You might have seen my post on my CD6 problem - "Check Disk". My entire unit was replaced under warranty. You retain your face, so did not mess with interior (i.e. 04's are black). Well, in my opinion the system sounds better and I don't have that base massage I was getting through the drivers seat. Did I get an 04 Vs 03 when replaced? Don't know, but going to the dealer to look at 04 manual to see what you can do with the 04 Vs 03.

I had the replacement done, and it does suck, no base left at all. I have the same problem as the others do, I want to have the only stock car left in the province, haha, I would suggest that you leave it alone, it is better than the upgrade. I think that nissan and bose is just going to forget they did a very poor job with the first year cars.

cheers,

Ron,

I would love to have the CD6 "check disc" problem you have so that I can get a 04 Head unit. How did you (can I) made it fail short of bashing the head unit in ?

lowbeeZ,

Don't know how I got the "Check Disc" problem. Once it happened it would not go away. Like I said...dealer replace...they don't repair. Since I started posting...several have noticed they had a non working "random select" from day one. I did and just accepted it. Check it out...yours might not be working. No working....means dealer replaces!

As for 04 unit...was advised on a previous post and confirmed with dealer...04 Vs 03 are different. Can't exchange! I did send lengthy email to "Patty" @ Bose telling her what happened and what the dealer did. Even asked / suggested that Bose knowing there was a problem should have stepped up to the plate and fixed those 03 HU sitting on the shelves, just awaiting requests from dealer for replacement HU. Will advise on response. Told her I don't want another "boiler plate" response!
