Selling the Z, need advice
hey guys and girls. i am in need of some selling advice and thought this was the best place to get it.
i have had my vehicle up for sale for awhile now, but was not in a big hurry to get rid of it so pretty much sat on my asking price and waited it out.
reason #2 for selling the Z has now presented its self (will be moving out west, new place has no where to store it during winter) so i am now under a time constraint for selling. i have found that there is not much of a market for Z's at the moment and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions / comments for me. it is an 07, base. manual transmission. SMB with black int. originally a Florida vehicle. 25,000 miles. never seen salt/snow. garage parked and stored. no accidents etc...
my main concerns would be what a fair asking price would be, and also any sites that people have had success selling on other then trader, craigslist, and kijiji.
any comments would be greatly appreciated. and if one of you wants to make my life easy and just buy it id appreciate it even more

here's what your z should be selling for according to kelley's blue book online:
2007 350z base with 25k miles, private party value:
Condition Value
Excellent $20,865
Good $19,715
Fair $18,215

Base model/US car with almost 50k km, will not fetch much in this market...I would not list it anywhere close to $30k.. Someone could just go out and get a 370z for $10k more.
I say list it at kbb' lowest price and pray someone wants it..
Trust me, I have owned and sold 2 x 350z's

When i was looking for my car, US cars were priced 2-3k less than Canadian cars. I looked at a few and as soon as I realized they were a US car I walked.
I see it on trader now for the 29.5k. You don't say its a US car on the ad either, so if somebody is interested when you pop that on them it could very well be a deal breaker.
There is a 2006 with 43k (roughly the same) listed for $23,888. So for your 2007 you will need to be in the 25,000 range to sell with it being a US car. Even at 25000 I think you will be sitting on it for a while. There are 7 cars only 1 year older than yours in the 25k range. Nothing makes yours worth $5,000 more for only 1 year. I may be worth a thousand or two more, but being a US car erases that unfortunately.
Not trying to be a dick, I'm just looking from the perspective as if I am a buyer. I look at the years around my target year too, 2006 and 2008 if I'm lookin for a 2007. It helps you find the price range.

I agree what you said ^, but condition and crashed or not is another big issue, ~70% of cars on the market have been in some sort of collision, hence one of the main reasons why people are selling the car in the first place. In this world, you get what you pay for, you can what, uhm.. pick up a 03 350z for 10~k? yes but its crashed obviously, same thing goes for older models, they are priced low for a reason. Maybe when i said 30, it was alittle steep, but it cannot sell for less then 28 for the condition he described (25miles is iffy.. but still not a bad mileage, good/excellent condition, no crashes) i say its reasonable price..

thanks for the comments guys&girls
when i posted it there were no 07's under 30K so i just slid in under the rest.
i like to think i could get slightly more then most comparable Z's out there based on condition. like some of you said, there are ALOT of Z's that have been in some kind of accident. mine is all original, not even the slightest bit of curb rash...i am probably one of the most conservative Z drivers out there. i put my rear tires on 13 months ago and they still look like they are no more then a month old. and as for the US vehicle thing, i actaully looked for one from Florida when i was shopping just so i could be sure it had not seen a winter (or atleast a winter as we know winter to be). i store my vehicle 5 months of the year and know for a fact it has never seen salt.
regardless, i have now dropped the price and will take 25. lower then that seems almost rediculous to me...
anyway, thanks again, its always nice to hear what other people with the same car think of the situation.
