New Bose TSB Available! Brantford Nissan Rocks!
lowbeez - i'm getting mine done at Village Nissan on the 12th, i'm taking the day off so if you like we can meet up and I can connect you with the service manager there... he's a really nice guy... don't talk to the moron service people at the desk, i brought my car in last week and one of them looked me in the eyes and said there was NO TSB out for my VIN range and told me there was nothing he could do
anyway I called their BS, talked to the Service Manager (thanks to ZedZed's Waterloo Nissan reference - thanks again) and now have an appointment to get the fix
DO NOT LET THEM PUSH YOU AROUND PEOPLE! A 50,000 dollar car deserves a better stereo
If anyone needs a reference PM me... I am making it a PERSONAL goal to ensure that NO Z out there has the sorry excuse of a sound system that the 03's shipped with...

I complained about the lack of sound clarity. Call Nissan Canada and talk to them. Tell me you are unhappy with the sound quality of your Bose system, and that you KNOW there is a fix for it. Be firm, but be polite.
No arm twisting needed. I got it done at Waterloo Nissan. I just told the service manager that I called Bose, Bose told me to call Nissan Canada, which I did and then Nissan Canada told me to go see my dealer about a new replacement amp.
Service manager initially wanted for me to wait for the letter, then changed her mind and ordered the amp right away. She got onto the computer, checked availability and said there were 135 of the new amps in stock at the Toronto depot.
Why would Nissan have 135 new amps in stock at the Toronto depot if there is no problem? I don't quite understand why some dealers are giving you guys a hard time.
The only reason I can come up with, is that Nissan is being very stingy with paying the dealer for warranty work. I noticed Nissan alloted .3 hours to swap the amp, which is 18 minutes!!! There is no way the tech can take the rear panels apart, install the new amp, and re-install the panels in 18 minutes.
I think this is why dealers are shying away from warranty work as much as possible, they loose money doing it.
I wonder if this is an industry wide situation. I have noticed the last year, whener I take my Jeep in to get warranty work done, the dealer is ALWAYS trying to talk me into doing extra work that I have to pay for. I guess they figure they are making minimal money on the warranty repair, they might as well try to get some more money while the car is in the shop. This is my 3rd Jeep in 8 years, and they NEVER use to push anything on me while the car is in for warranty work. Now it's every time I take it in.
That's enough rambling for now.

Actually the amp replacement would take no time at all. The 18 minutes they alloted would be more than enough time. The amp is located under your mat on the drivers side of your spare tire. Now if I could only get the newest TSB number to take to my stubborn dealer here in BC.
So I called Nissan Canada today and put in a complaint about my poor sounding stereo, 2nd gear grinds, and the rearview, passenger armrest, and drivers door all making rattles or squeeks. Even the guy and Nissan tried to tell me that my VIN number didn't include me in the Bose issue. The only issue he even knew about dealt with the volume going up and down automatically! I told him that there is an issue with the Bose amps and it needs to be replaced. So now I have to take my car to my dealer to let them hear the stereo except since I replaced the head unit ( thinking it might help with the sound ) I'm sure it will give them another reason to say So Sorry Sir! Once the snow and ice melt from my DRIVEWAY I'll try and take it in to get everything settled.
