Default Picking up Z tomorrow!

Hey everyone,

I'm picking up my 2006 Redline Grand Touring Z tomorrow! My previous car was a 2007 Civic Coupe, so this is a huge step up in terms of raw power. I was pretty active on the 8thcivic forums, so hopefully I'll find myself at home here on my350z. I just wanted to say hi to my home for the next while.

For ***** and giggles, my previous car:

I'm also looking at wheels already, and was wondering if 18x9 +31 offset will clear the front OEM Brembos?

I would, but the wheels I'm trying to get are discontinued and impossible to get. I'd probably need spacers, but how big?

I would suggest front from +12 to +25, Rear anywhere from +12 to +20.
Lower offset require roll fender

On the z forum we dont believe in spacers if your buying aftermarket rims, on stock rims its forgivable offence

post more pics of your car, dosnt look too bad, but is that a wing i see there?

Congrats OP..
Is your '06 a 6mt?... if so.. please research in the Engine section for Oil Consumption issues with the Revup motors.

I don't believe in spacers either, but the wheels are impossible to find.

.. and yes, you're correct about the big-*** wing there. It's the J's Racing wing, lol.

Make sure you take that wing off and put it on your Z, Z's with wings like that are known for getting higher altitudes!!

Congrats on getting a redline, nice colour.
Don't cheap out on wheels. 18X 9 +31 will look the worst ever. Get some nice Volks or something.
The Rev up Motors burn oil like crazy.
Z's aren't crazy powerful but you might need to show a little respect to the car your first couple weeks.
I know I spun mine the first week I got it.

Actually the wheels I'm getting are very rare but discontinued, which is why I might have to settle for a shitty offset. $600 a wheel ain't cheap, haha.

Dude. You don't have to settle for those crappy wheels at all. If they are 600 a wheel save a little extra and get properly sized Volks.

I never really liked Volks as I find them too common on the streets. I'm still trying to get ahold of the wheels I want properly sized.

Volk's are not common, esp in 19's.... What makes it seem common are all the replica's rolling around.. especially the ones with painted red lips..
-But as mentioned.. get wheels with proper offsets

OP,
You can search the EC sub-forum for more info on Revup motor OC issues... We have at least 3 threads that discuss in some detail.

GL and enjoy the z!

why rims did you get? Why beat around the bush?

FYI i'm running 19x9 +22 with a 255/35/19 toyo t1r up front right now, and it's not aggressive at all.

hell people like running 19x9.5+12...looks hot!

I would consult your Doctor prior to such heavy lifting. At minimum, toe touches would be on the top of any list.
