yes, we already have it.

I get your content arguement totally. Even though i am on the local 240 forum i still use freshalloy and zilvia for most research because there is just more more content... but all the guys on those forums are also on their local forums too... the big international forums are just the 400 series highways so to speak.

i'll pose a couple scenerio's for you and presume the answers. Take these from your own perspective but also from that of the 'general user'.

i'll wager good money that there are dozens of guys in this section that are former SON240sx guys that grew out of 240's and into 350z's... the 240 boards then become some what of a farm-team for the 350z guys. So when you want to go sell your 350z you can post it on my350z in the open classifieds (international) or in the east canada section where you're amongst dozens of local guys who already have 350z's or you can put it where guys are driving lesser cars but who you know are in the target demographic for your car... admittedly kijiji is your best bet anyways...

That example is even truer for wheels however... buying & selling wheels internationally is a pain in the ***... what if the wheels and tires for sale section on your local 350z forum was networked to the 240sx forum and other regional forums with thousands of other guys who may also be in the market for your wheels? It will be more advantageous than just posting on this forum but also easier since you dont need to go to 5 different forums... the network sections are common to all forums... that would be better than kijiji because it's fukll of anonymous low-ballers.

Additionally, we already have the largest group of Nissan-centric vendors in Canada. All of whom service the Z cars as much or more than they service the S-cars these days. SG is there, AMS is there, PUR, Varun etc. etc.

And Lastly, you're correct that i was a vendor on here, it costs 10 times more than advertising locally and your account gets banned when you stop.... therefore i would wager that you will not see any significant long term vendorship from local vendors on this forum.. especially since we're in Canada.. i made pretty much no local sales... it was all US guys.

But anyways, the 350z thing is on the shelf for a while anyways.. if we do go ahead with it i would expect all of you to still participate here anyways, hopefully in addition to a local forum.

^I see your point, and agree that many would also use the local forums.. esp, for sales of new or used parts. This would be its greatest value. However, what are the first question any new member will ask?
-Which shops can I take my car to work on.
&
-Where can I order parts.

With the list you provided.. I would only say SG is of any value and even they have limited experience with 350z. Yes, they do have their race cars and such, but they have only been around the platform for a few years now.. While you have other shops such as APH and SS, both of whom have been working the z's since 2003...

-Vuk @ AMS is a good guy.. but he lacks attention to detail and is not familiar enough with the z33 platform to be recognized as a viable option for those looking to get some basic maintenance or modifications completed. I had problems after vuk installed the AMS lightewight pulley's.. Let's just say that I was stranded on the side of the highway and almost lost my brand new engine, all because he lacked patience and attention to detail..

-PUR *LMFAO!* .. the shop is a joke.. Although I was only there for the inaugural event.. the owners and techs new almost nothing about the platform....
-Many of us watched, in horror, as one of there detailers, scratched and swirled up a brand new Lexus 4xx series...

All in All, that leaves us with limited options here...

I am sure if you promoted the forum, many would join up.... but is it a forum that will help the community grow, or something more basic, like a message board...

In any case, I wish you the best of luck!
