How much does it cost to get a clutch installed?

any recommendations on a good clutch/ clutch and flywheel combo I could replace the stock one(s) with?

I'm looking to keep costs down as much as possible.

 

You should call around and ask your local shops Probably around $300-$400

JWT Clutch and flywheel combos go for roughly $750-$800 shipped.

If you want to do it on the cheap, I'd suggest just the JWT clutch on the stock flywheel, with a fresh Nissan throw out bearing. Labour you're looking at about 4-5hours, which is $320-400

Curious what your symptoms are? Is it slipping or?

I find my car stutters off the line if I dont have the revs high enough, which it never did before. Not sure if that is clutch or somthing else..

 

I just had it in for service and the dealer told me it's looking like it'll go after 10k or so kms.

 

clutch judder usually means its on its way out. if the clutch starts engaging higher up the pedal, then you know for sure.

how many km's you have on the OE clutch?

 

While this is certainly true to a degree, it's hard to tell without having driven with someone... missing the engagement point will cause this, not enough gas will cause this... once the clutch starts slipping it will be apparent in every gear, almost every time... punch the throttle when you're sure your car is in gear, if the revs increase before the speed, your clutch is going out the window.

Please get a second opinion however, your dealer is not the most trustworthy source and I would avoid having them do anything to your car which is not absolutely necessary or covered by warranty.

SG Motorsports / Speedstar / APH would be where you should go for this procedure, hands down.

That having been said - I'd too like to know how many kms you've got on the OE clutch and if you were original owner etc... lots of factors, but I see lots of guys in the us forums burning out their clutchs by 30-40k (50000-60000km) and if you're not pounding on your car... imo you need to perfect your shifting.

If you've got a DE, go with what everyone is saying.

But yeah, mine started juddering right when I bought the car used (had 65,000) and I wasn't sure if it was because it was worn or not. I had never driven a Z up to that point and had heard stories of their indistinct clutches. However, when my clutch started engaging further and further up the pedal, I knew. The 05's and up have a self adjusting clutch which makes it a little easier to tell when its on its way out.

 

In got an 06 350z with 100 thousand kms and a pretty bad clutch and a sticking pedal. Would it be cheaper to drive down across Niagara Falls to get the JWT Clutch and flywheel installed and shipped to their location? Does anyone know any shop that would do it? Thanks
