Default Window Problem, Help??

So a couple days ago my driver side window started acting up. When I would close it, it would go all the way up and then come back down to half.

The only way I could get it to close fully was to hold the button all the way up to the top.

Today on my way home, My window decided it won't go down at all! Only the Driver side the Passenger side goes down no problems.

I still here the "click" noise when I push the button, or even when I push the button on the door release.

What would the problem most likely be? the Motor?? Let me know please!

Is your car under warrenty? if u do, bring it back to dealer, they will reset the window motor for u. This is what I did. If not, then search on the tech forum, some post teach you how to reset the window. goodluck.....

If they don't cover it, its very easy to do (assuming its just a reset). Remove door panel, press reset button, done.

Your motor will die though, its just a matter of time

For me, i will try to reset the motor 1st..........if everything works fine. Then u don't need to spend money on the new motor. If it doesn't work, then u need to change it.

Wow, so I went to reset my window, and before I did, I just pushed the window button to see if it would work lol. And the window came down, it's working perfectly normal now.....

Your motor is dying. DO NOT BUY THE MOTOR FROM THE DEALER when you replace it.

they charge 500/window motor. You can by aftermarket replacement motors for 150 or so.

Had the same issue. Did the NTB04-089 Window Regulator Motor Reset Procedure. Zero issues now.

Yes the window motors are made of garbage or something and stop working eventually. Every Z owner needs to know, if you are still in warranty, get them both replaced before it expires! It will at least buy you a few years.

NAPA carries after market replacements for much cheaper, but its still not cheap, and I hear they still die after a couple of years.

yeah I called them earlier, it's $193.44

I use hot spot for a lot of my car parts and they were a little cheaper at $182

Well as of now, I opened it up and reset it , let's see how long that lasts, it seems to be working ok.

I actually got the guy at NAPA to give me the Motor for $165 if I ever end up needing it. If it last me more then 3 years I'll be happy because I won't likely have the car for that long.

I would come, but you are having it in Markham AT 10AM!! that's like a half an hour drive for me man. I don't like getting up at 9AM on my days off. I might come up though, depends how late I stay out tonight after the Leafs game.

Unhappy Was waiting for this...

I researched the Z before I picked up a 2007 Roadster a couple of months ago, and noted the window problems. Well today I found water in the car after sitting outside in the rain all day. After inspecting at home, I realized the driver's side window stayed open just a couple of millimeters (<1/4 inch), enough for a bead of water to seep through.

I'm guessing I just need the window limits reset, but I'm not handy enough to do it myself. We'll see how much this costs me when I get my oil changed. Window works fine otherwise.
