Default Which do you do, buy tires online or shop locally?

Because the winter season is upon us, I've just started to wonder if buying tires online is a growing trend to help save some money VS buying tires locally but at a one stop shop and paying a bit more.

I know a lot of guys, myself included, buy tires online and have them shipped to me and then source out my own tire shop to do the installation. I probably save in the range of $80-$100 sometimes, obviously ranging from the tire.

If you buy tires frequently because your car gets some track exposure, are you more inclined to buy tires online to save more money because of the frequency of your purchases?

I guess my main question is: If you buy tires locally, what makes you do it compared to buying tires online or Vise Versa? Do you like the ease of a one-stop-shop and are willing to pay more for it?

I buy a lot tires because of my camber and having too many cars.

I have a hook up on tires so I buy locally, but before I did, I used 1010tires.

I've always bought tires locally as I have always been able to find decent prices compared to online shops. I figure if the local shops can do it within 10% of the shipped-to-my-door price, than I would rather keep my $ in Canada/local.

How about driving down to Buffalo and having the guy change the tires you currently have on the car....I find that is usually the best overall price.

I end up having a trip out of it...spend the weekend in Niagara etc.
