Default looking to buy a z

i have about 20 grand to spend

are the 05-06 rev up motors really that bad. i've read on here that the oil burning is pretty bad but to the people that have the 06 rev up motors, how bad is it?

are the hr motors really worth it? i know they have a bit more horsepower and the cosmetics changed a bit compared to the older models. is it worth spending the extra couple to a few grand more?

Yes, they're that bad. As for HR's I have no idea but the newer Z's sure are nice!

Sadly, I think I'm putting my 2003 Z with 54,000miles (US car) up for sale in the spring when I take it out of storage if you're interested :'(.

I change my oil every 3 months, and it's fine. According to the tsb released by nissan, I wouldn't qualify for an engine swap with my kilometres/consumption

its hit or miss with the rev ups. mine needs to be topped up halfway during oil changes. i change at every 4k. itll drop to like the 1/4 mark on the dipstick.
from what i hear and seeing the dyno charts of the hr motors they seem to be worth it.
cosmetics are the same on the hr years as the 06 only cosmetic difference is that hr hood with the hump. 05 and less has different lights front and back. and different front bumper.

I would definitely buy an HR over an up-rev.

I have heard some up revs are a nightmare and some don't have any problems...so it's a kind of hit or miss.

Either way see if you can get yourself into an HR!

No oil burning issues with my 06 rev up motor.

Still going strong after 97,000km.
