Default Test Pipes - GTA

Hey guys - are any of you driving with test pipes? I was wondering if they will cause the car to lean out - I have read they do but can anyone confirm?

I just want to run them with my stock exhaust - I just installed a plenum spacer (powerlab 3/8) and it made a solid difference in my car over 3500rpm. The colder weather along with the addition of the spacer and removal of passenger seat + Spare allowed me to get my 1/4 mile time down to 13.93 @101.34 from the previous (Although higher temp) run of 14.3XX @ 98.XXX

I am hoping that the test pipes will offer a similar improvement in the upper RPM band. Also - and this is my main question - if anyone is running them around the GTA, have you had problems with the OPP?

Thanks

I have no problem, but I also had my HR tunned by aph after the cold air and the test pipes. I would highly recommend a tune/dyno with test pipes.

Why not get some hfc's instead? between the stench, nasty rasp and every time i saw a cop my ahole puckered it really wasn't worth the extra couple hp. i had my tp's for about 2 months before i couldnt take it anymore and switched to hfc. You ever drive behind someone without cats? i personally can't do that to other motorists.... Not for a couple measily hp. The hfc improved the engine sound too.

Why not Try finding a used 3.9 fd on the forums instead?

They smell that bad eh? Money is the only reason that I would rather go with test pipes, I'm just finishing University and am extremely price-sensitive lol. Plus, for the price of a set of used HFC's, I could get new test pipes and a greddy emanage used just like the one for sale right now.

If I had a rev-up I would consider a 3.9 FD - but I can't even hit 60mph in second gear in my non-revup as it is. Too much shifting as it is. Plus I'd have to get a tune of some sort to calibrate my speedo right? When I had a mustang that's what we had to do...

Any of you guys get together and go to the drag strip/track regularly? Hopefully I can come out next summer if there are any Z car track day events.

Its all really personal pref, I dont find my that bad. Ya sure when engine is cold it does rasp from 2.5 till you hit 3, after 3 its gone and also ones the engine warms up the rasp does mild down a lot. Smell... Well ya sure it does smell a bit stronger with test pipes but its not horrible. Nothing like older cars like a 300zx would with test pipes. Best thing to do is go for a ride with someone with test pipes also find out what exaust they have and see for yourself.
