WTB: CD009 tranny, low miles
Turns out 466whp is not so good for a 2003 model transmission.
3rd gear blew up entirely on me tonight.
I need a CD009 ASAP. Anyone have a hookup?
Thanks,
Myles

Turns out 100hp is too much for that tranny!
Seems like almost every owner has blown this one up. Only 38,000km on the odo.
C'mon gang...anyone have a hookup? Know someone who knows someone?
I am awaiting a shipping quote from Z1 in the US, but would love to keep my dollars in Canada.

$2000 shipped. We'll see how the duties/brokerage/fees go.
I called a couple local dealers: One was will to drop from $2760 to $2500. One was not interested in getting my business at all.
Stunning that these guys wouldn't be willing to take some pie rather than none at all. It was full margins or nothing.
Grabbed a Nismo diff cover while I was at it.

Even if it costs a premium, the peace of mind of a new unit is worth it for me. These trannies are bad enough as is...why gamble on something of unknown origin?
I thought $1700 for a brand new OEM transmission was pretty cheap.

For anyone interested, my total landed cost on the tranny and Nismo diff cover was $2315.
Tranny was $1700 including new shift dog, the differential cover was $120, and the shipping $300.
The difference is the exchange rate. I'm pumped to get a smoother shifting transmission into the Z and very pleased with the service from Z1 (a forum sponsor).
Speedstar is looking after the installation right now...

Very much planning on it but business and family are both keeping me hopping!
As the season starts to show down at my shop I will definitely make the time to get out for a few sessions.I would love to have another day at Mosport...
