new emission testing with HFC / CEL
Hey guys,
So for the first time I'm required to get an e-test under the new standards for my Z.
I've got berks HFC on my car and an osiris tune - my problem is my CEL comes on for the standard catalytic converter temp running too high code when I do highway driving.
I'm pretty certain I can't pass the new test with any CEL on, so my question is this - can I reset the drive cycle without highway driving, drive around for a few days and be able to pass? Is there a way to see whether or not your 'sensors' are ready? I have an ODBII reader.
I know a lot of you guys may be in the same boat - are there any solutions sans getting the cats taken off the car for testing then put back on?
also - do you know if with the Osiris tune you can just delete your comp even throwing this code? I know APH mentioned that, but would that cause an automatic fail?

I'm in the same boat but luckily I did my e-test before installing my HFC. However I'm now getting the CEL which I remove with a code reader.
I'm going to be seeing Edward @ Automatrix and will be hoping he has a solution to this issue resolved. I'd be interested to know if clearing the code, doing some city driving and then getting an e-test will result in a pass.

Removing the code entirely will cause a 'not applicable' condition to be read. It's neither ready or not ready. Osiris can't spoof a ready condition as far as I know...

I had mine done last year at a minute muffler shop with berk non resonated test pipes. Clearing like the cel with a scanner, as clubhopper said, will cause a fail based on not ready status which is what happened to me. You're actually allowed 1 or 2 sensors to be in a not ready state (my evap and bank 1 O2 were not ready when I tested). I drove around for a few hours and retested 24 hours later and passed unconditionally with just my evap sensor still not ready. However, there is a loop hole of sorts that allows you to fail twice (a re-test is like 40 bucks) due to not ready sensors and you get a conditional pass. It allows you to get your sticker but you can't sell the car until you pass unconditionally. At least that's how it is around London. IDK if GTA will be any different. The whole thing is BS and an obvious troll cash grab especially as Grand Bend/Forrest residents (30 mins from London) are exempt based on their northern location.

Yeah it's such a brutally obvious cash grab. Especially when I was able to walk out of there with a pass and non resonated test pipes lol. They just wanted the fees for my two tests and nothing more. I guess whatever helps the green liberals sleep at night lol.
