What do i need to rev to 8k?
What do i need to rev all the way up to 8k and to be safe? I already rev all the way up to 7k...how much work and effort is required to rev just alittle higher???

Good Q... I plan to do forged internals, and was also wondering if TechnoSquare will do custom reflash to raise rev-limiter to 7800rpm... all in all, what is necessary for this type of redline?

On a serious note -- I think the real question you have to ask yourself is why do you want to rev to 8k RPM.
An M3 revs that high because it's peak HP is at 7900. Our peak HP is develeped around 6400 rpm, though some mods -- you can make some good usuable power up to 7k or so. But I would think past that you are better off upshifting to get back into a more usefull part of the powerband.
Without massive changes to the intake, compression, internals, etc. -- I don't think you would be making any real power up there.

I used to rev my 474 cubic inch (90 over) big block chevy in my Sanger Hydro (boat) to 8,800 all the time. If the parts are good enough, enough fuel is delivered and the cam will pull to 10k, it will do it.

true true...i just want to be safe really and be able to rev to like 7500 max...8 is pushing it i think....because i know the JWT cams with some nice headers (crawford) and a good set up and tune session u can make a good amount of power...right now im at 7k and i make some good amount of power...haven't had a chance to track the car yet sine the ecu reflash but i am pretty sure the higher i am revving keaps me alot higher in the power band...but who knows right...i would relaly have to look at my dyno chart to see where i am making the most power....analyze analyze analyez right guys?

well if you have alot of mods that add power up top such as crawford headers, test pipes, exhaust, intake and plenum, i think it could be very beneficial. the crawford package alone adds 40hp at redline, maybe with cams and tuning it could make much more at 7500-8000rpm.
