Redline MTL and MT 90
So I was at the auto store, Vans, and they had redline in stock and I decided to buy 2 quarts of MTL and 2 quarts of MT 90. I had read a while back that you were suppose to mix the two together, is this correct?
From what I had read, you need to mix the two together and put about 3.5 quarts total in the tranny with a pump, then check.
Since it got a little colder my shifting hasn't been as smooth. BTW I have 18,000 miles. Can someone give me some info on the Redline before I put it in tomorrow?
Thanks

I did this 50/50 mix about 5-6 months ago ( 3000 miles). My tranny was just starting to show a bit of 3rd gear grind at that point. The synth. didn`t make a huge difference in the shifting, although it was probably a bit less notchy after the switch. I do have a new tranny coming soon under warranty (the dealer ok`d the synthetic and put it in for me), so you can see that it won`t prevent that failure problem on the early 03`s. My 2 to 3 shift grinds or feels ``loose`` fairly often now after start up. I also get some grind from 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th after the car is warm. Just gonna stick with the Nissan gear oil this time and save myself some $$.
