Default Strut Bar recommendations ???

What strut bar would you recommend to accommodate a Crawford Plenum?

Show us a picture if you can.

JIC makes a real nice carbon fiber one that fits, or just go with the Crawford one its less expensive. but you do have to modify your engine cover with the Crawford.

No, the JIC won't fit, at least not from what I've seen. The JIC one is flatter than stock, but wider, and gets in the way still. I'm not sure if you can space the strut bar up a little and clear?????
(with washers or what not)

The design of the Crawford strut bar isn't really good because of the brackets they use to move the strut mounts forward. This design will flex at the mounts and would not add very much torsional rigidity. I suppose it's better than not having anything, but just don't expect it do much.

The bar was the only part of the car unscathed after this....
He was able to put it on the new car that replaced this one!

FYI, our bar vs the stock is actually stiffer.

With our design the "mounts" will not flex. Had a thinner guage of steel been used, it may have been more likely. However the design is using thicker parts than even stock!

Did you notice the stock bar already has an expansive curve in it? Yikes! Talk about a structional flaw!

This is high-school physics, which is stronger... a straight bar or a bent?

If anyone is in the area, feel free to come down to the shop and take a look yourself.

You know this argument is going to go on forever until you put both in something that can measure the "crush resistance" of both and prove it. I tend to believe that yours is stronger though...

We did!!!

Our bar held past 10k psi, however the OEM started bending at far less.

Get a new hood with more room? then put some washers under the strut bar to raise it slightly?

BigShow-

I had the Crawford bar before I installed the Vortech. It touched the hood and made marks. I have looked at other people's hoods and they all had marks from the Crawford bar as well.
