Default Problem from a while ago i still cant figure out

Its been around since I installed the Greddy TT... but it hasnt caused any problems but a low knocking sound...

When im driving straight.. no problems.. turning right.. no problem... only when I turn a hard left do i hear dadadadadad real fast like something is hitting something... metal to metal.. not part of the engine... but it sounds like near the left front of the car near the wheel... andy ideas?

No rush i guess since my car is still fine. Thanks!

Don't you have to disconnect the steering shaft to install the Greddy kit? If so, I would suspect that something did not get put back together correctly. Sorry I don't have much more. I would get it looked at ASAP. You may be damaging an expensive part of the front suspension or steering.

I had my header rub on the steering shaft when I turned . May be something part of your TT set up hitting it when you turn

His problem sounds more like it is either related to something like the wheel hitting the caliper or a pulley hitting something. Does the frequency of the sound increase with vehicle speed or engine RPM?

well it was definatley after the install... and no it doesnt change in frequency... just a low thud... almost constant interval... somewhat hollow sounding if I had to give my bes description.

I was told that I might hear dings when I go over large bumps from the intercooler piping hitting something... but this is only when I am turning...

Now that i think about it... its actually when i turn right... and the weight is on the left front side... sorry about that... i was just repicturing the sound while I was driving I think i said the wrong side...

Well I guess I should have someone take a look at it then.. I have checked under the car and see no rubbing or damage so I never really worried about it...

But i guess its not normal since no one else has it.

If its when you take a right...more than likely rubbing on the steering shaft . If you get under the car and look up where the header or part of the TT set up is closes to the shaft . If it's rubbing you will see the paint rubbed off the shaft

I run a race shop in Charlotte, that posses alot of experience in the hi-perforance area with sports-exoctic vehicles. Without being able to put the vehicle on the rack, all assumptions are just that. On the drivers side undercarriage there are not to many moving parts. The steering knuckle and thats about the only item that will spin a revolution. Now the steering rack(tie rod ends, control arms are very near by, but those move east to west. Perform your own test drive the vehicle, pin point the location. determine if it is a centrifical sound, or dragging pop, then park the vehicle and rotate the wheel from east to west and see if the same sound appears. I'll bet you find the problem quicker than you think.
