Track 2005 engine

It does not necessarly mean heavier.
Off topic: my ITR was '98 #798 if I recall.
Stolen from my driveway on a rainy night, locked with Honda factory alarm, no noise made. I live on a secluded dead end street, so they were pros who knew where it was.
Funny thing of all, it was recovered 2 days later and the only stuff taken was seats, front spoiler, front bumper cover and headlights, instruments and cam cover as well as my JDM Ti shift know my wife gave me.
They left the engine, gearbox, brakes, suspension, wheels tires and rear spoiler. I thought all this would be gone first.
Car was driven after stripping with cam cover off so engine declared and car totalled. :-(

I'm curious about the crank pulley - how much does it weigh and can we buy it?
How do the new rods compare to the pauter rods?
This kinda makes me wish I waited and got a 2005 track model instead of a slightly used 2003, but that's how buying cars goes...

So far I havent yet found anything updated in the NISSAN Fast parts system for the 05 track...
I am in the process of adding all the factory OEM Parts to our web site...
Here is a link to see what I am doing...
http://performancenissanparts.com/ca...cPath=153_1135
As I have time I work on it
As soon as I have part numbers and if I can find any spec's on other parts I will post them. And, once we get a new 05 track in the shop, it comes apart

That's some great work Jason. So nice to have someone working for us on the "inside."
I think I recall you mentioning a few part numbers had been changed in the front suspension?
I couldn't find the thread you mentioned it in, do you know off hand what they were?
Sorry for the hijack, hopefully you all are interested in this as well.

yeah it's nice to have a source where you can get any engine part you want if you were to ever need it. If you were to blow your engine, I can't imaging trying to deal with the clueless local dealerships around here.
Keep it up!

well guys I just want to see the tests of acceleration. I think 0-100 will be the one to watch. What I was talking about earlier with the harder acceleration translates to more area under the curve. You can do the math yourself at the peaks, but higher hp and tq at higher rpms will translate to more wheel torque. And if you dont think low end torque is important, look at a graph of an Evo VIII dyno. It hits peak torque at 4k. Yes its AWD, but it could never accelerate that fast without the low end. We will all know very soon, when magazines start testing.......and I go by the dealership....hehe
there's alternative ways to get low end torque that won't really show well on a dyno such as gearing, clutch/flywheel, light wheels, pulley, etc stickier tires help accelleration too
Well, they don't actually generate low end torque, but those things will get you up into the torque faster
sti's and evo's are AWD, have way higher gearing, and the evo has much more stickier stock tires. So that's what they have going for them.

Nice to have suspension too.
BTW, How does Nissan issue their parts lists?
Is it on CD and available to public?
If not "directly" available from Nissan, how about "indirectly" ;-)

More horsepower but you lose torque I'd rather stick with my 05 Performance and buy an intake which will put me at about the same whp so **** it but it's all up to you i'd rather have that torque

The Track has more torque above 5000 rpm, where it counts on the a track...
Was it RnT that tested a 35th Anniversary and found it .2 seconds faster on the 0-60?
@350ZYALATA
torque is insignificant taken out of a context. look at the torque and horsepower curve. track engine is better, final. There is no argueing.
@KOLIA R&T tested the anniversay faster than the touring, but C&D had the opposite results. The anniversary is heaviest of Zs.

it's not in straight line you will see the benefits of 13hp

Altough basic maths will show the Track engine torque figures in the upper revs are superiors.

so if you use your car like on a road course. the track engine will own. Going At it from a stoplight, or at low rpm, the two engine are about the same. (personally I prefer the road course).
someone with a stock non-track car should set up a Dyno with Kolia to prove the point once and for all.
That said, they should have put a shorter final drive in the track version. Then, it really would have owned.

I'll be dynoing my Track once I get her, just to see what kind of numbers she puts out.
The extra power is also the reason I chose the Track over the Performance. I plan on auto-crossing and tracking the car so that will definintely come in handy. The Brembo's, Track rims, and Aero package were another plus for me.
One thing I don't understand is how this difference in engines wouldn't help any form of racing. When you drag race, you still rev to redline and shift and then you would drop right back into the meat of the powerband. So, in theory, it should be a little bit quicker right? In a race, you never really are in that low point of the powerband except for 1st gear.
