Question for tranny experts only!!
When the Z is cold, shifting is very hard and very difficult to powershift even when the engine gets up to normal operating tempretures.
How can I make the tranny warm up as fast as the engine does??!!
Some said, use synthetic oil. Is it recomended? wouldn't it harm my tranny? Any other suggestions on ur minds?
This concerns me bcoz i wanna race on a drag compitetion and must leave my car (after scruitenaring) a night before the race!! And on the day of the race, we just start up the cars and line up! And on the last 2 events, I miss-shifted 3rd on my first run
bottom line.... need to warm tranny to shift properly.. HOW??

Well it would be possible to pre-heat the oil via an external oil heater, normally used in a dry-sump type setup. This would require external lines to the transmission, pump, heater, external tank, etc...
This seems very counter productive as 99.5% of the time during a racing event one tries to limit the amount of heat in the transmission.
What fluid is in the transmission now? I would suggest trying Redline mt-90.
If you are already running a full synthetic race gear lubricant, then I can suggest a couple of other solutions not as extreme as the external heater.
BTW, what constitutes cold in Bahraini?

I am using the standard oil at the moment. Did not switch oils yet. We operate at around 25 deg cel at the dragstip. We normally reach 47 at summer which is really high!
p.s. Drag only in winter
