Did you break the splines going into the hub? or the cv joint itself?? I have broken the joint in the past but the splines are usually the weak point... It sucks but it will cost you roughly $500 for a new one from the dealer and over $1200 for aftermarket..

I think the part you need it Z100D90F don't know if you can buy the individual parts seperately to fix yours or have to replace it.

Not sure who will give you the cheapest deal on this.

Wow guys.... thanks for ur concern and help. I am really touched

I was launching @ 4k and was aiming to get sub 13.8 that day(which is the best for a 350z here and my best).
But it wasn't the stress that broke it, it was the massive hopping and vibration

sorry to hear your problem as well, but also thanx for the heads up on the hopping on DR's. i have a set of DR's on 17's i was going to use....mabey i wont!
if you dont mind me asking were you heating them up for max grip? or just nailing it with them cold? mabey i could still use the DR's w/o heat cycling them for slight improvement while not chancing the breakage of my axles!

did you do a REALLY good smoky burnout with those drag radials to warm them up? Sometimes, if they are a tad on the cold side, they will hop more.

When I broke my axle, it was actually the cv joint that snapped... No wheel hop here, just a 5000 rpm launch on MT streets- It was my 4th launch of the night and the cv just couldn't take the hard launches anymore... I believe my best run that night was a 13.2 N/A...

I've run slicks and DRs at the track without any problems...down to a 13.3 N/A. I think his problem was due to wheel hop, not shock from the launch.

When I broke my CV joint, it was dumping the clutch @5k and hooking up with too much traction on MT E/T Streets... No wheel hop at all... Usually it rips the splines right off inside the hub, but not on my car yet. I know some race teams are having their axles cryo dipped(frozen) to stregnthen them and some are just replacing them with heavier ones...
