OBDII code: P0051?????
I've had an SES light on since I've put on my headers two months ago and it won't go away. I've reset the ECU numerous times, but it always came back, so today I bought a code scanner and I pulled this code... P0051 (H025 Bank 2 sensor 1 heater circuit low). What the hell does that mean? I know it has to do with my upstream O2 sensor on the 2-4-6 cylinder bank. Does this mean that particular O2 sensor is bad? If anyone has any insight on this please let me know.

westpak,
It's not P1051, but P0051. Do our cars have heated oxygen sensors? I'm assuming they do (in an attempt to speed up ECU readings (better fuel efficiency)). Apparently oxygen sensors need to to be around 600 degrees to start functioning in a closed loop with the ECU, so if that is true, then the code I'm reading must be indicative of a short in the heater circuit or a failed wire or connection. Does this make sense?

Well I guess it depends what year car it is if it is an 03 then P0051 if probably for a bad oxygen sensor heater if it is an 04 or 04.5 not sure where the chabge happened it would be code P1051 and it would be a bad AF sensor heater, they changed from oxygen sensors to af sensors.

That's why I asked. In my 03, I have a constant CEL and when I read it with my Digimoto software on the OBDII, I get the heated O2 sensor code.
Catagory: Powertrain
Name: P0057
Description: HO2S Heat
It didn't happen until after I installed my supercharger but it didn't happen immediately though. I happened shortly after I installed my ZR3 Laser Shifter last summer. This was just before I had the new fuel system installed so it wasn't that.
It's still on to this day but I've had no problems at all.
Just a side note on a similar subject. I've had my aftermarket wheels/tires on now for a few weeks and my TPS warning light has never come on. I was told that it'll come on and stay on after you got rid of the stock wheels/tires and the TPS sensors. ???
