Default AFR question

Hello. I just installed my test pipes and my Zeitronix WB AFR sensor. I started the car up (still on the jack stands) and the AFR was running around 14.7. Which is around the normal range. Then I gave the engine a quick rev to about 5000rpm. When I took my foot of the pedal to let the rpm drop the afr went up to about 18 then dropped down again. Is something like this normal? Kind of thinking that is pretty high. I don' think I made any mistakes with the install. Its pretty straight forward.

Thanks

When you take your foot off the accelerator it is normal to see that. You will even see it under load too when you accelerate and then take your foot off and engine brake the car. It is a normal characteristic of fuel injected cars. If it were carburated and you did that you would probably get a backfire from raw fuel getting in the exhaust. The fuel injection just reacts faster to lean it out and decrease emissions.
