Default Installed 3.5 rear end,2200 stall torque coverter, level 10 valve body,+ ecu reflash!!

Ok everyone all i have to say is after all these upgrades at once i blew my f+++ing mind. I step on this thing at 45 it chirps gears and throughs me back like a rollercoaster at six flags. Its in fact dangerous lol cause when i hit it at 40 my car will go sideways if i do not infact hold on for life. If all you guys with autos want these cars to really freak out do these upgrades. My father and I installed all these parts ourselves and it was well worth it. The total time for all the installed parts was about 12 hours. I even burn out every time it shifts so i have to keep my traction control off its that insane. If you all have any questions feel free to pm me. The motor work and all these upgrades combined is in fact insane, and for a comparison i drove a sti before and the thing hauled +ss, but compared to how my car moves now its night and day. So if you want the most out of your auto do these upgrades.

Thanks Glen

whatd does the 3.5 rear end do? I am not familiar with RWD cars.

Did you install tranny cooler. The improved valvebody will really heat up the fluid.

Does Level 10 do a core swap or did you have to send yours in and wait to get them back? Also how much is the valve body and is there any difference between the Level 10 and the Stillen?

Auto's come with 3.2 gear and maunals come with 3.5. 3.5 = faster acceleration.

Isn't the gear a final drive inside the transmission??? What does that have to do with the rear end?

I was charged $800 for the valve body, and $500 for the converter plus a core charge from level 10. Also these upgrades in fact help your tranny. The 2200 stall is not enough to cause heat problems. I got the rear end from a salvage yard for $600 also. I can"t say how much labor would be because i did the installs with my father, but let me tell you all its sure worth it. Also you need 10 quarts of nissan type J tranny fluid for both.

Thanks Glen

Zmego This might be a dumb question but is the 3.5 rear end the same as something like Evo's 3.5 final Drive? I'm going to be doing some mods and I just wanted to make sure I knew what you were talking about.Sorry I new to this sort of stuff but I'm trying to learn as much as I can .Thanks.........

No, I believe those are called syncro's...though there very well could be gears and syncros. The gears he is referring to are in the rear differential. You change the gears and the teeth on each gear change the gear ratios. The higher the gear ratio, the faster the acceleration, but the top speed won't be as high as a lower gear ratio, the lower the gear ratio, the higher the top speed, but won't accelerate as fast as a higher gear ratio. Nothing to do with adding power just helping the power get there at a different time.

No...well, you couldn't swap them out, no. The Mitsubishi Evolution 8 is AWD...the Z is RWD. AWD's have two differentials. It depends on the differential casing and other stuff to determine what gears will fit. If you want to make sure it will fit, get a 350Z or G35 differential gear set...anything else and you will be taking a chance. Auto's have 3.27's and manuals have 3.5's...and 350EVO sells 3.9's. For more information refer to my post above.

Are you referring to 350Evo's 3.9 final drive kit 350Z's with manual trannies? If so, yes, the kit Zmego did is a 3.2 -> 3.5 final drive conversion, since the auto tranny 350Zs apparently have a 3.2 oem final drive. The manual tranny 350Zs, on the other hand, have a 3.5 oem final drive, so we'd want the 3.5 -> 3.9 kit from 350Evo. (I'm not sure who made his 3.2 -> 3.5 kit, since he didn't list it.)

Joe, unless you have F/I...where you would most likely rather go to a 3.2

Sounds awesome.

Just curious, why did you go with a 2200 stall and not higher? Stock stall on my 84 z31 Turbo was 2600-2800rpms, same with our GN (2700rpms). You wouldn't notice any driveability loss untill you start getting higher than 3k stall. It's awesome to be able and build 10psi and more off the line though.

Have fun and keep it straight.

i think the total cost for parts should be around 6000. definitely not a small chunk of change, but the results may be well worth it. im interested to see what this NA 5AT 350z would do on the dyno..

DYNO DYNO WE NEED A DYNO!!!!
