Default Two types of Nismo LSD in Japan

I note that Nismo lists two LSD types available in Japan.

They are called the: "Nismo GT LSD Pro" and the other is called the "Nismo LSD Pro TT"

Anybody know which one is sold by Nismo USA?

The description of the LSD units by Nismo indicates the LSD Pro TT is quieter and more suited to street use than the LSD Pro.

Anybody know about these?

The Nismo LSD sold in the US is a rebadged Cusco MZ limited slip unit. It's brother is the Cusco RS... the difference with the RS is that it uses finely tuned springs to manage clutch plate friction as opposted to cone plates... less noise and slightly more mellow engagement with the RS.

Actually I just re-read the Japanese and they have 3 different LSD's in Japan.

These are the: "GT LSD", the "GT LSD Pro" and the "GT LSD Pro TT".

Could the GT LSD or the GT LSD Pro be the Cusco MZ and the GT LSD Pro TT be the Cusco RS?

In any case if the GT LSD Pro TT is quieter, and not available here in the USA, I may pick one up when I visit Japan next time.

I figured out the GT LSD is not for the Z33 application. So it really is only 2 Nismo marketed LSD units in Japan.

I still wonder if the GT LSD Pro TT is the Cusco RS.

Here is link to Nismo announcement http://www.poweraxel.com/nismo/news/...5/n050001.html

Here is link to Cusco
http://www.cusco.co.jp/english/e_lsd.html

Both claim the TT and RS are quieter.

i have the nismo lsd sold here in the states, and i love it. i clicks and pops a bit going very slowly, turning tightly at lock, but it works very well. i'm a drifter so i use it constantly, and it's been through about 10 rear tires so far. all still well ( it better last a whole lot longer than 10 tires though )

little loud but not bad. the usa lsd is a 1.5 way that is convertible to a 2 way, by moving some internal pieces around. if you wanted a super stiff lsd, which i don't think you do, you could make it one by changing it up.

on a side note, if you have a base model z, the nismo lsd is the only one that comes with the stub shafts that fit correctly, keeping you from going back to the dealer for new parts halfway through the install.

I probably have the highest mileage Nismo LSD in the states.... I installed it at about 20,000 miles and now have over 71,000 miles on it... I change the fluid reguarly with Redline... And yes after 50,000 miles, it still pops and clunks... I have left it at 60% lockup and haven't had a need to change it.... And as stated, if you are upgrading from a base non lsd car, the Nismo is the best choice considering it comes with the half shafts.....
