Default Good news....my tranny's gettin replaced

Took the Z in today to have the grinding that I'm hearing going from 5th to 6th checked out. They called me two hours later to come pick up my car...for now. They said they had to order a new transmission because one of the teeth on the 6th gear was gone? Don't know how that could've happened, but it's under warranty so I don't really care. The good news is they are going to install my new clutch and flywheel for me while the tranny's off! Just in time for my turbo next month, I'm stoked.

How much should I let them charge to install the new flywheel/clutch? One hour tops? Hell I'd come do it for free if they'd let me, but I don't think they would.

hah.. i got my tranny replaced already cause I had a similar problem in third gear... but I tried to get them to install an UR flywheel and they refused to do it. The nissan techs told me they wouldnt install any non Nismo products in my car cause then they couldnt guarantee the work. Sounded to me more like BS to try and get to me to buy their product over another one.

same here, 3rd 4th 5th - its up to the dealer if they'll let you install aftermarket parts and/or charge extra for it. my dealer is being very helpful and generous and seem to be excellent at communicating problems and time frames to me, props to Dorschel Nissan in Rochester NY. I might go with NISMO stuff through them just as a thanks for their generosity if I don't go w/ the Tilton parts.
