I think the main reason guys rip the splines off the axles is because they don't preload the drivetrain when they launch. What you should do it stage..tach up the motor and then as the lights start to come down...let the clutch slowly out to the friction point and the car starts to roll just a tad...and about that time (assuming you time it right) the third yellow should be illuminated and a smooth dump of the clutch shold ensue.
