Need a straight answer about spark plugs.

Default Need a straight answer about spark plugs.

With the mods in my sig, and living in hot FL, Should I be running 1 step colder OEM plugs???

I can't seem to find a straight answer maybe someone can help me out.

Would be good info to know, temperature + mods.... cold step plugs.. i'm jumping onto this paranoia bandwagon!

I would say that you'd be better off NOT running colder plugs. I personally use 1 step colder plugs, but am spraying a 100 shot in addition to my NA mods. I feel there is no need for the colder plugs at all when I am not spraying. I am not even sure that I need them when I spray, but I put them in as an added safety measure. When I dynoed it under spray with stock plugs there was no detenation detected audibly or via my knock sensors.

If you opt to run the colder plugs, you should not notice any loss in performance, but you will slowly increase carbon build up.

If you are running an N/A car, there is no need for colder plugs. F/I street cars should run one step colder, and race only cars two steps colder. I found the 2 step colder, when used on the street, fouled much too quickly.

Thanks, I'll just stick to stock heat.
