how is the engine braking with the tilton full street setup & the jwt? I wouldn't even consider the semi-street clutch as my car is daily driven and I don't see a need to stall for some more performance. I originally was looking that the tilton full-street but thanks to the guys that gave us honest real-world views on these setups. I'm now looking at something more conservative like a ACT/RPS clutch & JWT flywheel combo, or ACT/RPS clutch & UR 13lb flywheel...

I just had the JWT flywheel/clutch and the UR crank pulley installed today. All I have to say is it is AWSOME. Granted, it's not like the Tilton (which I've driven in) but I think if you have the right combination of mods, it compliments them nicely. I'm not exageration but today an older style Z06 (probably an 03') pulled up on me and started reving his engine..whatever...anyways I would have thought I wouldnt have a chance but I swear on my grave I pulled a car length on this guy up until about 80 then we slowed down. He seemed to know how to drive (I didn't hear any grinding or anything. I'm still thinking to myself is this possible? Even if he was a crappy driver I still think he would have pulled away from me off the line..but I guess not. Typically I save this kind of stuff for the track but I couldn't resist after I just had these mods done.

so JWT won't make "cement mixer" sound correct?
is there any noise from JWT clutch/flywheel?

from what I understand the JWT will have a little, but not much noise. You can always raise your idle to get rid of the cement mixer sound at idle via a nissan dealer or ECU flash.

Do you still have rattle noise from the transmission when you have JWT setup?

What about combining an 8lb flywheel with a more driveable clutch like the JWT? Would this give you the benefits of the quicker revs without the driveability issues described above?

Any other options to get close to the weight of the Tilton flywheel with a more driveable clutch?

I was really thinking hard about doing the Tilton, but I don't like the fact that the full street will only hold 300rwhp as I do not want to limit myself from going FI in the future. The ATS is a fair bit heavier than the Tilton setup. It seems like an ATS with an even lighter flywheel might be a good setup but I don't know if its possible.

you can get the semi-street tilton or ATS dual carbon or single carbon clutch - or exedy carbon clutches, but I think i've heard the ATS ones are better

everything else to my knowledge is either a full race part or is heavier

I am the buddy mentioned above, and it is true, the Tilton Street setup is fun as hell, really enhances the drive of the Z, but I commute 45-60" each way each way to work on the 710. It is very difficult to drive slow with the TILTN, so this setup would be a nuisance for me, even though I would love to have it! I also found that the clutch was really stiff, you had to really push down hard with your foot. It was comparable to a Cobra mustang's stock clutch stiffness!!! This is a another deterent for stop and go traffic!

So does the tilton FULL-STREET have all the squeeking and noise of the SEMI-STREET? Do they both share the same problems, minus the full street being ezier to drive? I really want the 8pound flywheel, and I plan to stay NA so if the FULL-STREET doesnt sounds as "broken" as the earlier poster put it I would deffinatly get it. The cement mixer sound comes from the flywheel so that would still be there on the full street but what about everything else mentioned? TIA!

Ok, I'm in CA and i have a full exhaust system (headers, HF cats, and loud *** exhaust). Will I be able to drivce slowly around police in order to keep the noise down with the Tilton?

Isnt there a clutch that is between the tilton and the jwt? argh. darn it!!!

yes there is, the ATS carbon twin disc clutch

my street tilton does squeel a little. It doesn't make the broken sound because I have my idle raised to 1300 so that stops it. Not only does it stop the sound and make it sound cooler at stoplights being reved at a higher rpm, but it makes take off slightly easier.

you raise the idle either at the dealer which will be a non-permanent thing until you disconnect the battery, or you can get an ECU flash. You cannot adjust the idle for 2004 and higher though I think via the dealership. It only works on 2003 models. The ECU flash will work on 2004 models. I still don't know if anyone has been successful at flashing 2005's yet though. So in short, if you have a 2005 model, your tilton will make your car sound broken.
