6MT for 5AT Tranny Swap ??
I know a guy who says he has or can get a 6MT tranny for $50. It is brand new from Nissan. Dont ask why the cheap price. I have seen it in person so I know it exists. Now on to my question. I currently have a 5AT and have thought about swapping my 5AT for a 6MT. What other parts would be needed and how much would it cost (roughly) to do something like this? Would I need to swap any other parts out that are currently stock on the car? Has anyone done this on a Z or G? How difficult would this be and is it even possible? Sorry for the ton of questions.

WOW! This sound like an interesting proyect. I remember trading in my 1st. 350Z Auto for a 6MT. In my case I lost less by trading in then by buying parts. However if you can get hooked with cheap parts go for it. Let us all know the outcome, keep us posted.
I saw a guy who was trying to do this on his Z about a month ago here on the forums, he got some good info. I will try to find his thread.

I could've sworn that the ECUs for AT/MT are different as well.
IMO this project will probably cost more in money and in headaches than trading in your Z and getting a new one with the MT. Not to say that it isn't a worthwhile experience... just saying it would be one PITA after the other.
