Front Cover Pics - after cam install
Before anyone asks, we are still waiting on 2 things before we dyno. Until then I thought I would share my taste in engine appearance. The common thing to do when we (and some others) put cams in a Z or G, is to have the front cover polished. Well, I am not a big fan of polished pieces. Simply stated they get very hot and they are a pain to keep looking nice.
I decided I wanted the front engine cover to match my plenum. So while I had everything apart I powdercoated the lower plenum and the front cover GLOSS BLACK. To make sure people noticed I had only the cam covers polished. It turned out to be really slick looking. My engine has picked up the nickname 'Darth Vader' by everyone in the shop.
Enough with the text, here are some pics:

looks very nice -- I was playing around with the idea of getting my front cover & cam covers polished when i build the new engine -- how much did it run you / how long did it take?
thanks!

VandyZ, I have been thinking about doing the front cover black as well. The only problem is I haven't had an excuse to take it off yet, or to have you guys take it off.
I like it.....
