What do you think of this custom shift knob? Feeler?

Well I’ve been lurking in the forums (using a friends login), but this thread has finally made me get a handle. I’m usually on g35driver. Big thanks to Clint for designing this. I’ve been waiting!

Here are a few more high quality pic of the **** (inside my G35).

That's nice! So are you going to start a raffle? Can you tell I've still got Zdayz fever?

Excellent..we are almost there.
Clint tells me it will only take 2-4 days to cut them on the CNC machine, so turnaround will be pretty quick. After they are cut, then Clint has to go and manually tap the threads for each ****, so there is still a bit of manual intervention needed.

sentry65,
Check post #11 ... I've attach a pic of the **** next to an OEM. You'd be able to judge the height differential from that. I don't have the Nismo GT, but if I remembered correctly, it is slighlty narrower (than the GT).
Edit:
I think I know of your concern with the Nismo GT; not being able to rest your hand on the **** while you cruise. This **** was contoured to be particularly inviting to hold onto. The slim profile actually encourages it and really allows you a firm grasp. I’ve fiddled with larger diameter prototypes … they just don’t feel that good in comparison. It's tough to explain, but once you go slim it’s tough to go back. During a cruise, you’d cradle the **** and rest your hand against the finisher piece at the base (not possible with the Nismo GT). It’s an act that is both extremely comfortable and second nature to most who has tried this.

Wow, this is the first replacement shiftknob that has actually caught my eye. Great work Clint. Where are you located ... I would really be interested in feeling your **** before I actually buy it (um ok .. that sounds really wrong). But seriously, maybe we can meet up sometime.

ah ok, I must not have seen those pics before
after I missed a shift once and screamed into like 8500rpms I don't grab the shift **** anymore like how you'd grab a lever or baseball bat - I only grab the shifter like that when shifting from 1st to 2nd.
By having your hand angled that way, there's less chance of you pulling the shifter downward and over toward you into the wrong gear because it actually feels slightly awkward to do and just doesn't naturally happen. Has to do with the angle of your wrist
then when shifting from 5th to 6th I actually turn my hand over almost 180 degrees so that my little finger is touching the top of the shifter
just like this
http://www.shortshifter.com/techniques2.htm
That and it's slightly faster to grab to top or left hand side of the shifter instead of the right hand side if you think about it
So to me, the thin GT style shift ***** aren't comfortable
