N/A Setup / What do you think? / Suggestions?
Hi Guys,
I'm thinking about doing some N/A bolt-ons, and perhaps going F/I next spring.
Considering this i was wondering what would be best for this?
Right now i'm thinking of:
- Plenum spacer (1/4")
- UR Pulley (Crank or complete set, what do ya think?)
- K&N Typhoon intake (already bought, but not yet installed)
What else do you suggest? AFAIK the above mentioned should be compatible with F/I, am i right with this?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Your plenum spacer will work. If you plan on doing a s/c then your crank pulley is useless, you cannot use this with a Vortech, Procharger, etc. And the crank pulley is the only one that really offers power so if you want the others ones thats up to you, waste of $$ imo. And your intake unless you get the Stillen s/c will have to be tossed out as well. I would recommend some test-pipes or high flow cats, they will help you now and later with FI, and a nice exhaust.

Hi,
thx for your reply. Test pipes aren't possible in my area, and high flow cats could be a problem to. I still have to figure out this part.
The intake is already bought (since last december... ) so i think i'll drop it in.
I also considered a ECU reflash, but this also should be a waste, since it wouldn't work with F/I, would it?
For the pulley i think about getting it (just crank) and reselling it if i backed up enough money for F/I, thus it's not a complete waste. IMHO....
BTW: Sorry 'bout my bad english, i hope it's halfway readable.

What kind of F/I are you planning on getting? There are some parts that are compatible with a Supercharger and not with a Turbo, and there are some other parts that are compatible with the Turbo but not with the supercharger. If you go turbo, then you can use the pulleys. Like mentioned before, you should get an exhaust and high flow cats (test pipes would be better, but you said test pipes are not possible in your area). The intake will have to go, no matter if you go SC or TT, unless u go with the stillen SC. Anyways, let us know what type of FI u plan on (and may be the specific kit if you have decided on that already) and then we can give you some more specific mods.

A KJR Performance Pulley can be used on both SC and Turbo setups since it is not underdriven. The UR Pulley can be used for Turbo setups but not on a SC. If I were you I would just save all your mod money for the kit because I was in your shoes about a year ago and now im planning on selling off alot of my stuff. If you really must I would buy the KJR Pulley, a lightweight clutch and flywheel assembly (JWT looks like the best streetable setup), and some lightweight and insanely wide wheels (18x9.5). After this I would hold off on anything else until you have the kit.

I would suggest that you start to prepare the rest of the car for FI. Bigger Brakes, better suspension, upgrade transmission components, install some gauges and so on. The only real performance items I would suggest at this time would be a plenum, HF cats/test pipes, y-pipe or catback. The exhaust end will differ depending on TT or ST setup.

Hi Guys,
thanks so far. I think I'll be going with the plenum, and some kind of exhaust for now. I don't know yet what F/I solution to go for, but i think S/C 'cause i think i'll get heat problems with a TT setup here in germany. I'm considering the HKS right know. The main problem here are the high prices over here. Right now i have been quoted with about 15000$ US, just for a S/C, exhaust, and correction of the car papers, which is a must to drive it legally.
Thanks for your suggestions and tips. I really like this community.
